Alta Via Stage Race partially retraces the itinerary of the spectacular Alta Via Dei Monti Liguri, which crosses the whole of Liguria winding along the watershed ridge.
In the first editions of the event, the race route more faithfully followed the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri path, making detours only where the track conditions did not allow the passage. In the last editions we tried to vary the route, to offer the chance to discover new corners of Liguria.
8° Edition
397 km - 14.800 m D+

The 2023 edition focuses on Liguria di Ponente, between the Province of Genoa and the Province of Imperia, on the border with France: a new approach, motivated by the desire to offer participants the best that Ligurian territory offers in terms of itineraries, environments and landscapes, crossing the most beautiful areas of Ponente and Levante in alternating years.
Over seven days, bikers will ride for about 400 km and climb about 15.000 meters, discovering stage after stage the emotion of pedaling in the thick of the woods, going out on beautiful ridges that offer unforgettable views of the sea, crossing villages of medieval origin, reaching peaks that seem to belong to the Alps and then descending towards the coast, with its rocky promontories and inlets.
This is the charm of the track, but also its difficulty: both athlete and vehicle must be ready to face very heterogeneous environmental conditions and types of terrain, breath and legs must be well trained, equipment must be chosen carefully.
